AMOR participated in event during the World Forestry Day – MAPUTO

[barre]

Commemorating the celebration of the World Forestry Day, AMOR participated in an environmental fair, which was held on March 21 2015 in the Garden of teachers (Jardim dos Professores). The aim of the fair was to draw attention to the protection of forests.
and promoting environmental awareness through various entertainment activities (learning while playing). The Forests play an environmental and ecological role: in the conservation of water, soil, and biodiversity.
AMOR participated by exposing different bags used for waste separation and showing images that illustrate the consequences of poor waste management. Environmental education was promoted through workshops in which juice packages (Tetrapacks) were used to make wallets and the game ‘Vai-Vem’ was played with a plastic bottle (PET). In this way AMOR aimed at strengthening the concept of recycling and stressing the importance to practice the 3 R’s: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. This includes reducing waste, sharing ideas and contributing to the preservation of the environment.
