As part of the program ‘’Citizens, Friends of Environment” implemented by the Mozambican Recycling Association and funded by the European Union, AMOR has continuously carried out activities that aim to contribute to sustainable development in Mozambique.
Various activities were carried out, such as the competition for the Requalification of squares and gardens in the city of Beira, in partnership with the students and teachers of architecture at UCM, as well as the monitoring of the activities of OCB’s, partners of AMOR, such as those that are advancing in the construction of warehouses for waste management.
In addition, AMOR, together with its partners, are promoting activities for cleaning tertiary drainage ditches in the districts of Goto, Inhamizua, Macurungo, Munhava and Chipangara, in the city of Beira, where 6 OCB’s (Neighborhood Community Organizations) are involved in order to reduce flooding, which until today are a major problem for Mozambique.
Urban planning, infrastructure, advocacy and integrated waste management are pillars of the actions of the Mozambican Recycling Association and which directly contribute to the sustainable development of Mozambique.
