AMOR – Mozambican Recycling Association has been implementing since September this year, the Waste Recycling Stock Exchange Platform project, financed by the Irish Embassy, in the city of Maputo.
This project aims to provide greater transparency in the recycling sector in the process of buying and selling recyclable material in the cities of Maputo, Matola, Beira, Nampula and Pemba. On the other hand, it aims to unite all recycling agents in a digital platform as a way to strengthen the sector through the monthly sharing of the real prices of recyclable material.
Thus, so far, a survey and registration of four groups of waste pickers made up of 20 elements each in the cities of Maputo and Matola, 49 companies purchasing recyclable material from the above-mentioned five cities and two transporters of the same material has been carried out.
