This training follows the first, held in August 2019, which aimed to train the CBOs in the management of community ecopoints.
2. Inauguration of the Ecological Christmas Tree
As usual, during the Christmas period of the year, the Mozambican Recycling Association assembles an ecological Christmas tree in a public space in the city.
On December 18, AMOR installed the ecological Christmas tree in Praça dos Continuadores, which contained around 5000 PET plastic bottles, mounted in a structure that simulated the shape of a tree.
On December 20, the official inauguration of the ecological Christmas tree was attended by Mr. Deviz Simango, President of the Beira Municipal Council and representatives of the Catholic Church, who had assembled his presbyter in the same place, as well as students from schools working with AMOR on the European Union Citizens Friendly project.
This tree aims to celebrate the holiday season and also make citizens aware of the best use and management of solid waste produced every day by each of us. Show that there is a possibility of producing better results from waste that is poorly managed through recycling.
