Summary of activities – June – BEIRA

On the World Environment Day, 5 June, Melodie Ounda-Meybi from AMOR Beira joined as a speaker the lecture on environmental law with the motto “Preserve the environment, avoid plastic pollution” organized by students of UNIZAMBEZE. We are glad about the interest of students in this topic, clearly shown by the audience.

Later on June 16, AMOR Beira participated together with various actors of the Beira’s city administration in the Beach Clean-up Day organized by DPTADER. The occasion for this event was the Public function Day marked on 23 June 2018. As always, we enjoyed this event done in exciting and fun way and were particularly pleased about the result – a clean beach between Ponta gea and Palmeira.

And to finish with a golden key, AMOR won the 2018 Energy Globe National Award for the implementation of the Environment and Citizenship project in ten high schools in the City of Beira with focus on environmental education and solid waste management. This is an honor and a motivation to continue working on recycling in Mozambique with even more enthusiasm!
