On March 14 and 15, 2019, the city of Beira was mobbed by Cyclone IDAI, which in general created incomparable damage to the provincial capital of Sofala along with the districts that make up the province. In face of this situation, the facilities of the Mozambican Recycling Association in the city of Beira were also affected by the force of the winds and the intensity of the rains that fell during this period, being without roof and with their belongings wet and the basement flooded.
With the damage registered, AMOR’s activities in this province were temporarily interrupted in order to deal with the damages and to support the employees who were also affected by this natural phenomenon, but luckily all of them were in good health and were safe during the incident. However, after creating the basic conditions for the return of activities, AMOR made visits to the partner schools, so that together with the direction of each one, it was possible to return to the schedule of activities and schedule their return.
