During May, the Mozambican Recycling Association conducted the following activities:
1. First meeting with the students of the Catholic University of Mozambique – FEG
Regarding the Citizen Friends of the Environment project, funded by the European Union carried out by AMOR, which intends to work directly with students and students from 13 primary and secondary schools and 2 universities in the city of Beira, on May 08, 2019, AMOR had the first meeting with students and professors of the Catholic University of Mozambique – Faculty of Economics and Management.
The meeting began officially with the presentation of the members of AMOR who were present, followed soon by the presentation of the project, with Project Manager Alfredo Zunguze as the speaker, who in a synthetic way approached the vital points of the project so that those in the room could grasp the essence of it.
The open space for clarification and comments was conducted by AMOR’s Administrative and Financial Director, Mélodie Ounda-Meybi, who in a more open approach sought to address the doubts that students and teachers posed.
The purpose of this meeting was to make a presentation of the project, to start with the practical activities in that institution, agreeing with the students and teachers on the ideal period for this.
2. Delivery of didactic material to the Provincial Directorate of Education and Human Rights
As part of the partnership between the Mozambican Recycling Association and the Provincial Directorate of Education and Human Rights (DPEDH), on May 27th, AMOR delivered teaching material to this institution as a way to support the students participating in the tournament between schools in the city of Beira.
4 Boxes of 50 notebooks and 4 boxes of 50 pens were delivered to the DPEDH Director’s representative, totaling 200 notebooks and 200 pens that would be directed under the responsibility of the sports sector, to students selected for school games from Sofala districts now in the city of Beira.
3. Visit ESSOR in Schools
As part of the creation of synergies with ESSOR, an international solidarity organization that works with disadvantaged young people in the development of life skills through vocational training geared to the region where young people live, on May 29, AMOR counted on the visit of 2 technicians of this organization in the sessions in the schools where AMOR acts.
Two schools were specifically visited at the Estoril Secondary School and the 25 de Setembro Secondary School where these technicians observed the work done, looking for it to create strategies for improvements of the dynamics and way of approach with the CAC students in the field activities.
