During October, a Mozambican Association of Recycling in Beira City, the following activities:
At the beginning of the implementation of the Eco-Friendly Citizens project, funded by European Union, the Mozambican Recycling Association executed the first baseline questionnaire, to pre-assess the level of knowledge of students engaged in the project’s school activities. About 700 students were surveyed at the time.
In October, the Mozambican Recycling Association conducted the second baseline questionnaire to assess the impact of the project on its first year of implementation with students in primary, secondary and academic schools. This questionnaire involved all AMOR partner institutions in the current project, about 60 students from each school were involved in this activity.
In response to one of the products of this project, a revaluation of public spaces, on October 26, 2019, the Mozambican Recycling Association had in the Catholic University of Mozambique, at 09h the 2nd meeting of CAC representatives, (students who are part Environment and Citizenship Club), in order to make a choice of 10 suggestions of public spaces in the city of Beira for a revaluation.
Students were tasked with identifying neglected spaces that could be revalued and brought to life once again. This task was performed by the club members in the schools, which collectively filtered as proposals from 15 clubs in just 10, to move to the next phase to achieve this goal.
On October 26 of this year, AMOR participated on the event of cultural year closure for 2019, held by the Provincial House of Culture-Beira, entitled “KUBATANA” which means “UNION”.
The event began with a welcome speech given by the director of the house to the attendees, where you can choose KUBATANA and an arts and culture cross-platform where you can contemplate the mix of cultural categories (such as dance, music, theater. and poetry)
After the speech began the cultural manifestations applied by the students of various local schools.
