1st Cultural Soiree “Environment and Citizenship Club”
The Mozambican Association of Recycling implemented in 15 educational institutions the project Citizens Friends of the Environment, funded by the European Union, in partnership with the local authorities of Beira city, Sofala province.
In order to achieve one of the objectives of this project, which aims to promote local culture through cultural manifestations used by CACs, including music, theater, fine arts and dance, the first Cultural Sarau was held in September by primary and secondary school students who practice part of the project Citizens Friends of the Environment.
This event took place at the Ponta-Gea Secondary School, and was attended by about 150 people, including special guests such as the Director of the Beira City House of Culture, Hermenegilda Martins Chigarisso, and representatives of the student community and other non-governmental organizations. .
Students present various cultural presentations in the form of music, theater and poetry, under the light of the theme “environment”. The pieces were all written and produced by them.
