Summary of Activities – March – Vilankulo

During March 2019, AMOR carried in Vilankulo the following activities:

The official launch of the organic fertilizer entitled Biocarvão in the Vilankulo Market. The event took place on March 1, 2019 and was held in the JAM campus located 20 km from the village, with the participation of JAM (Joint Aid Management) partners, ESUDER (Higher School of Rural Development – Eduardo Mondlane University) and SDAE (Vilankulo District Economic Activities Services); producers and the general public.

On March 5, 2018, the last section of the three training sessions was held on Gender, HIV / AIDS, nutrition, Savings; and had the theme of Savings covering a total of 56 women from the 11 groups and Associations that are part of the project. The training was aimed at improving the participation of gender in the economic development of Vilankulo with a focus on agriculture. The event was held in the ESUDER – Higher School of Rural Development – UEM, Vilankulo district, Inhambane province and Sections took place from 8 am to 12 a.m.

From 18 to 23 March 2019, training was carried out on cost planning and calculation of financial benefits, covering a total of 73 farmers from the associations and groups that are part of the project. The training was intended to provide beneficiaries with methods and procedures for calculating profit from investing in biofuel production and sales, skills to differentiate net revenue and gross revenue from the same business, and basics of agricultural marketing. The formations were performed in nine sections, with two sections per day with a duration of 120 minutes each.
