The 2nd Nordic-Mozambican Conference on Inclusive Growth in Mozambique took place on 14 and 15 October 2015 at the Hotel Indy Girassol. The aim of the conference was to discuss and share experiences on a variety of key issues within the broader context of inclusive growth, and to identify which policies and measures are needed to increase the possibilities of sustainable development in Mozambique in the long term.
During the two-day conference, various sessions and ‘round the tables’ were held and various issues were discussed that related to inclusive growth, particularly the gender aspect, inclusion of youth in the economy, business development, entrepreneurship and local content, small-scale agriculture with perspective commercial, as well as decentralization and democracy.
The conference was attended by several Mozambican personalities, including former and current government officials, parliamentarians, local politicians, academics, private sector representatives and civil society. Experts from the Nordic countries and the rest of the world also participateds as speakers and panelists, enabling an interesting mix and sharing of experiences and views between Mozambican personalities, Nordic and other nationalities regarding the promotion of inclusive growth in Mozambique .
