AMOR – Mozambican Association of Recycling under the Environment and Citizenship Project, financed by the European Union, implemented by the Mozambican Government through the Support Program for Non-State Actors (PAANE), which is being implemented in 10 secondary schools in the city of Beira for awareness of young people in the conservation of the environment, making the “waste” in raw material to be reused and to consider recycling as a way of generating income as well as encourage them to know how to exercise their duties and rights as citizens.
In the month of February, the activities in the schools began contacting the directions for their involvement and a joint organization of the activities with the CACs for 2017.
The seminar met expectations, the recycling issue was and participants, in addition to showing interest, shared their concerns and invited the project to address other issues and which concern to the school community.
As a first step, the project will move forward according to its plan consisting essentially of the revitalization of 10 CACs, as far as possible the concerns raised by the Directors will be taken into account.And it was highlighted follow-up actions:
– Sign the regulation about the operation of CACs.
-Start the process of CACs revitalization. Also as a way to provide young people with practical and theoretical knowledge in the exercise of citizenship, during the month of February together with the 10 clubs of Environment and Citizenship (CACs) the following activities were developed:
Constitution of the club of environment and citizenship of training of members for the exercise of participatory democracy and organization of the electoral process Disseminate information and requirements for all students and modality of application for the revitalization of CACs; Create the commission to receive the applications and select the candidates.
