During March the following activities were carried out in the projects:
- Environment and Citizenship – the clubs met in plenary to continue the development of proposals for improvement of solid waste management in Maputo city that has been made since 2017. The CACs of 5 secondary schools covered by the project Environment and Citizenship including : Josina Machel, Polana, Estrela Vermelha, Eduardo Mondlane and Francisco Manyanga discussed once again the possible solutions to improve GRS problems, this time presented by the Municipality of Maputo.
- Project Selective and Environmental Education Collection – perform painting and assembly of buckets for disposal of solid waste in 10 Complete Primary Schools Nhlamankulo District namely: Unidade 7, Mista Chamanculo, Mincadjuine, 21 de Outubro, EPC 25 de Junho, EPC Unidade 16, Amilcar Cabral, EPC Unidade 18, EPC Unidade 19 and Comunitária de Chamanculo D. This activity was marked recreational moments, environmental awareness, focusing on the 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), and painting where students used their creativity to the effect.
- Biocarvão – the project takes place in Vilankulo, where the production, application and monitoring of improved and unimproved biochar of 10 groups of farmers continues.
- In addition to these activities, the month of March was marked by participation in the Ressano Garcia Village Cleaning Awareness Campaign under the motto ” Juntos por Ressano Limpo ” organized by CTRG-Ressano Garcia Thermal Power Station and GiGAWATT Mozambique with the participation of about 200 people since (residents, market vendors, students and staff of the Administrative Post), where he sensitized the participants on practical measures of trash reduction (3Rs), the origin of the trash, consequences for the public health and benefits of it is treatment . This action resulted in the elimination of 4 old and bulky waste disposal sites on the ground, with about 3 tonnes of waste being collected from: paper, plastic, cans, PET bottles, glass bottles and ordinary waste.
